 Note from Joanne

 Hello %$firstname$%

It’s November already – where did the year go? It's
finally cool enough to enjoy my outdoor activities
like hiking and cycling once again. Alexander and I go
on a morning hike every Saturday; we’re usually joined
by one or two friends as well. On Sundays we alternate
hiking with cycling on the tandem with a tandem group.
Yes, I have slowly become more “social” by doing small
group activities with people I know, who share similar
interests. And you know, that’s enough for me. I
occasionally meet new people through these activities
 too!

I also joined Weight Watchers (I’m telling you all so
that you can help keep me on track!). Now that it’s
public knowledge I’ll have a little extra motivation
to stay “on program.” So far, it’s not as difficult as
 I thought it would be.

My message to you: do things (like socializing) your
way, and don’t make things any more difficult than
they need to be. Experiment until you find what works
for you. None of us is perfect (read below).

 Sincerely,
 Joanne Julius Hunold

 Overcoming Perfectionism – Another Perspective

[Note from Joanne: In addition to providing my own
perspective on issues affecting you, I like to pass on
resources and ideas from others that can help you. In
fact, one of my favorite things to do is “discover”
valuable resources and then share my “loot” with you!
Here’s an article written by a coach I admire Suzanne
Evans (more about her in my Hype-Free Zone). The
article is written for coaches, but I believe the
principles apply to all of us. Hint: substitute
“finalize your project/presentation” or “launch a new
initiative” in place of “launch your business.” Enjoy]

Stop waiting for everything to be ready, perfect, or
 right to launch your business.

My dad’s a farmer and he always says, “You want to
know the best way to find out that corn will grow?
Plant it.” You can prepare and research yourself into
a corner, but at some point the seed has to hit the
 earth.

Stop waiting for the website to be perfect or the
elevator speech to be in place. Quite frankly, stop
waiting until you finished your coach training. Stop
waiting for all of that, because you really do already
know enough to start building your business.

Here’s a story from my own journey. From the moment I
started my coach training I started my marketing
training and I started marketing my business. It’s one
of the single most important factors to the success I
 have.

I didn’t hold back. I jumped in and I made terrible
mistakes. I launched my business anyway and it gave me
momentum and it gave me some immediate results. I can
tell you that an entrepreneur making money is more
effective, productive and motivated than one planning
to make money. That was huge for me. Just do it
 anyway.

My marketing mentor and coach right now says, ” If
anything is worth doing it’s worth doing poorly to
start with.” I love that and it really is the key.

The same thing goes for those of you that are telling
yourself, ” You know, I don’t really know if the time
is right in my life to start a coach training program.
I’ve thought about it, but there are the kids and the
 money.”

There will never be a right time. There’s only right
now. I highly suggest that you do it anyway and go
forward. Jump in, because you really don’t know what
will grow until you plant the seed.

For me, one of the biggest gifts I can give you in
terms of marketing your business is: start immediately
 and plant it anyway.

It’s okay to do things poorly in the beginning. It’s
okay to do things poorly in the end. We’re always
growing, developing and trying new things.

There’s this wonderful quote I read a few weeks ago
that said: ” The cave that is the scariest to go into
and the hardest to enter is where your treasure lies.”

This is a moment for you. Whether you’re already in a
coach training program and you’re looking at launching
your business this is a moment, an ” Ah ha, write this
down, I’m going to do it anyway, I’m going to launch.”

people, make more money and enjoy more freedom with

 Joanne Recommends

I’m continuing to promote my customer survey. I really
want to know what you want/need!

For new readers and those who missed the previous
issue, I am awarding one book of your choice from my
 blog’s Introvert’s Ultimate Reading List to a
responder chosen at random. I’ve had a few responders,
and I want to hear from more of you. It’s your chance
to tell me/ask for what you want (a practice I
 encourage greatly; I’m practicing too).

Answer the survey and enter the book drawing here

 Joanne's Hype-Free Zone

For my solopreneurs readers: Suzanne Evans is a not-
so-recent find of mine. I’ve been quietly reading her
biz tips and find that a lot that she says resonates
with me. She’s not as “hype-y” as a lot of marketing
coaches out there (and you know how I dislike hype!)
More recently, I’ve begun to pay more attention to
 what she’s offering.

Suzanne is conducting a Help More People Tour in
several cities and I’m attending her event in Los
Angeles. It’s designed for us small business owners
who find marketing “yucky” and/or inauthentic. Join
me? You can get more info by clicking here. Even if
you can’t attend the event, Suzanne’s preview call is
 f*r*e*e, informative and inspiring.
